Annet Mahendru

Mahendru is an Afghani woman born to a Russian father and mother who is a Hindu Indian mother. Mahendru speaks fluent German Russian English, French Persian as well as Hindi. Annet Mahendru's parents are Russian as well as Indian. A choreographed performance at age 11 that aired on German television, turned her into an Russian dancer who was a snow maiden. After completing high school in New York, she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from St. John's University. She took classes in acting in the HB Studios. However, she went on to study improv comedy at The Groundlings School. Her family was brought up in Kabul Afghanistan by a Hindu/Indian father Ghanshan Mahendru, as well as a Russian-speaking mother Olga. She moved with her father to East Meadow, New York at the age of thirteen and a half years old. She is a part of FX's The Americans alongside Matthew Rhys. Her role on FX's The Americans as Nina Sergeevna Krilova is her most notable TV performance. Her recurring role in Fox's The Following and NBC's The Blacklist.
